  • Seasonal Help - Research Department

    Wyffels Hybrids is seeking motivated individuals for spring seasonal positions, lasting approximately 8-12 weeks. Duties will include, but are not limited to: cleaning and packaging seed, and planting using a research planter. Work schedule may vary up to 40 hours per week with overtime possible. Select individuals may be asked to travel to different test sites to assist with planting research plots with overnight stay required, up to 70 hours of work per week and travel expenses paid. Start date is early to mid-March. 

  • Research Technician - Field

    This position reports to the Research Station Manager and performs activities planned by the research team.  Responsible for locating, planting, spraying and harvesting yield trials in our designated testing footprint.  This position performs work in the corn breeding lab, research test sites, and nursery and may also travel to winter nurseries.  This role has supervisory responsibilities for seasonal staff throughout the year.

    • B.S. Degree in Agronomy or closely related field - or - High School Diploma and five years of experience in corn research, testing, and evaluation.
    • Experience with row crop farming and related equipment. Farm background preferred.
    • Commercial drivers' license or ability to acquire one within three months of service date.
    • Commercial Pesticide Applicator Certification or ability to become certified within three months of service date.
    • Ability to perform physical lifting (50 lbs) and work in varying ergonomic environments.

    • At least 15 years’ progressive commercial leadership experience, including at least 7 years in a marketing department
    • Field sales experience preferred

  • Systems Analyst / Programmer

    Provides professional analytical, problem solving, and project planning to maintain and improve business applications, systems and service effectiveness utilized by all parts of the company. Activities require interaction with application development software, Microsoft Windows Apache Server environments, and IBM Mainframe/DB2 relational databases to create, maintain and modernize applications.

  • Production Technician

    The Production Technician is involved in all areas of seed production at Wyffels Hybrids and performs any or all of the tasks associated with general plant operations and field activities. Responsibilities vary throughout the year, and may include crop production, detasseling, harvest, conditioning, packaging, or warehousing.
