SIDNEY, Iowa — Wyffels Hybrids, in partnership with Bound, has named Sidney High School standout Gabi Jacobs as one of the recipients of the prestigious Corn Belt Award and Scholarship, recognizing her exceptional leadership, athletic achievement, and community involvement.

The Corn Belt Award honors six Iowa student-athletes annually—three females and three males—who exemplify character, perseverance, and service. Each recipient receives a $1,000 scholarship and the signature Corn Belt Award championship belt. Jacobs, a multi-sport athlete competing in tennis, volleyball, and softball, has earned statewide recognition for her athletic performance, including competing at the IGHSAU state tennis tournament and continuing her athletic career at Morningside College.

Beyond athletics, she is deeply involved in her school and community, serving on Student Council, National Honor Society, and volunteering at events such as the Sidney Rodeo and local youth sports programs. Her ability to balance academics, athletics, and service—even enrolling in full-time online learning to participate in both volleyball and tennis during a scheduling conflict—demonstrates the resilience and leadership that define Corn Belt Award winners.

“Gabi is a rare kind of leader—the kind who inspires others simply by being herself,” said Mariah McCoy, Jacobs’ tennis coach. “Her integrity, work ethic, and positive attitude make her an outstanding representative of this honor.”
