"Reaching 80 years is something worth celebrating," said President John Wyffels. "It's a testament to the employees, retirees, and families who have invested their time, talent, and passion into this company over the years."
The Employee 80th Anniversary celebration last week brought together employees from across departments, locations, and generations of Wyffels families. The atmosphere reflected what many employees describe as the company's family-first culture. Conversations flowed easily as coworkers introduced spouses and children, shared stories, and strengthened relationships that extend well beyond the workplace.
Throughout the evening, families enjoyed games, live entertainment, and activities for all ages. Cornhole, ladder ball, giant Jenga, bounce houses, face painting, custom caricature portraits, and much more kept attendees busy, while plenty of food and refreshments provided opportunities to gather and connect.
For many attendees, the event highlighted something that makes Wyffels unique. While employees work together every day, opportunities to gather with families create a deeper understanding of the people behind the company and the relationships that drive its success. "Everyone always talks about their families, so it was so nice to get to come together in such a fun environment," said Accounting Assistant Abby Jodts. "It gives you a chance to get to know people in a different way and see the connections that make Wyffels such a special place to work."
While the evening celebrated the company's history, it was equally a celebration of its future. From a small family business founded in 1946 to one of the largest independent seed companies in the Central Corn Belt, Wyffels has grown by staying true to its mission and investing in its people. Today, the company continues to expand its product lineup, agronomy resources, technology, and support for farmers, while maintaining the family culture that has defined Wyffels since the beginning.
That combination of growth and culture was on full display throughout the evening. Employees weren't simply celebrating a company milestone. They were celebrating the relationships, shared purpose, and commitment to independent thinking that have carried Wyffels through 80 years of success.
