As harvest unfolded across the Central Corn Belt, timely and accurate information was critical for farmers making decisions in real time. While many in the industry awaited updated mapping from the USDA, Wyffels Hybrids delivered actionable insights through its Harvest Progress Map—a resource that is proving invaluable to growers and ag professionals alike.
Wyffels’ map provided a clear, up-to-date snapshot of harvest activity across key regions, helping farmers benchmark progress, anticipate logistical needs, and stay informed on broader trends from the agronomy team. In a season where timing can impact everything from yield preservation to market strategy, having access to this data early is a game-changer. Over 500 farmers added their harvest progress and yield estimations over eight states.
“Farmers can’t afford delayed updates,” said Mitch Heisler, Product and Agronomy Manager at Wyffels Hybrids. “Our goal is to help growers make confident decisions, and the Harvest Progress Map is one way we’re delivering on that promise.” The map is only one part of Wyffels’ broader commitment to farmer-first innovation. By providing agronomic tools and insights that are both timely and localized, Wyffels continues to empower growers with the information they need when they need it most. Wyffels provides a variety of agronomic tools such as GDU, grain drying and yield calculators, corn rootworm monitoring programs, product comparisons, and timely agronomic reports to cover in-season trends.
This initiative also reflects the company’s expanding agronomy team, which plays a key role in gathering field-level data and translating it into meaningful insights. With boots on the ground and a deep understanding of regional conditions, Wyffels agronomists are helping bridge the gap between data and decision-making.
“Yield results remain highly variable and localized, and disease management continues to be the biggest driver of yield performance in 2025. Most growers across the Central Corn Belt report performance slightly below last year, with yield levels farther off in the heavy disease areas of central and southern IA. West central Illinois is seeing the highest yields across the Corn Belt, and some growers in SW Minnesota are seeing their best results ever. The hot and dry finish of the season did affect grain fill and caused the crop to progress quickly leading to some localized stalk integrity challenges, especially in fields with heavy disease pressure,” stated Mitch. As USDA resources are limited, Wyffels is already ahead of the curve proving once again that its commitment to farmers goes beyond seed to be a true partner with their customers throughout the season.
