As the 2026 growing season gets underway, the conversations that shape success are already happening in the field. 

The first Between the Rows® – In Field Edition event series, held at the Wyffels Hybrids Ames, Iowa facility kicked off May 27th. The event brought together farmers, agronomists, and industry professionals for an evening focused on one goal: helping growers make confident, informed decisions from the very start of the season.  

 

Turning Early-Season Observations into Action 

Throughout the evening, participants engaged in hands-on discussions led by Wyffels agronomy experts and Iowa State University Extension and Outreach specialists. Topics centered on the early-season decisions that can have a lasting impact on yield potential, including: 

  • Scouting priorities and identifying stress factors 

  • Post-emergence herbicides and Asian Copper leaf weed identification  

Each session was designed to go beyond theory, giving growers practical ways to evaluate their own fields and make adjustments as the season progresses.  

 

A Collaborative Approach to Agronomy 

What continues to set Between the Rows® – In Field Edition apart is the collaboration behind it. By bringing together Wyffels innovation and Iowa State University research, the series creates a unique environment where science meets practice. “Discussions and in‑field sessions focused not just on the spring planting season but also on decisions growers can still make,” said Agronomy Manager Mike Witt. “Individuals left with knowledge they could use the entire season.” Growers leave with a practical, hands‑on look at the latest research and real‑world recommendations.
